  Back in April 2024 my partner and I had dinner with friends at the Butchers Arms in Oakridge Lynch, the first time we had visited the pub. Since then, because... read more we had had such an excellent evening, we have been back a few times, all equally enjoyable. During December customers who dined at the pub were presented with a golden envelope which contained a special gift redeemable in January and February. The golden envelope was only to be opened in front of the pub staff during our next visit so we duly booked dinner one evening in February. We won two free puddings and our friends won the top prize of a free Tomahawk steak for two, with all the trimmings, worth £60.00. The pub regularly has a steak night on a Saturday but our friends were unable to make use of the prize and they very kindly offered it to us instead.

Ben, the guy in charge, couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful when we returned to the pub for our 42oz Tomahawk steak. We were seated in a cosy area with an open fire and, after we had ordered a bottle of red wine and shared a portion of onion rings as a starter, our steak soon arrived. The beef was very tender, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, served with chips and accompaniments plus an extra order of peppercorn sauce. Unsurprisingly we had no room for a pudding, to be remedied during our next visit to the Butchers Arms as we will definitely be returning in the not-too-distant future!
